Is it worthwhile for humanity to spend trillions of dollars on hedron collidors and extravagant space programs?

Instead of focusing on peace, equality, integration, food security, .... ? I mean just look at Somalia, no body cares about Somalia just because there is no oil and no diomonds there...., and eventually now the whole world is at peril of Somali pirates, and what are the developed countries doing?? playing with hedron collidor and sending people on space when there is no chance of humans ever being able to secure a land in space where humans will prosper... its all light years away.... What about Somalia ? What about Afghanistan and Pakistan ? What about Muslims that cannot integrate in Europe and are consuming taxes from welfare ? Why are governments' priorities so messed up ?
