Moving, how to get my boyfriend to be open?

My boyfriend knows I'm moving but just says, "ld relationships don't work out." WTF!? Like, come on! After so long together, he wants to break up on the day I leave?! How do I make him change his mind? I know he loves me, but why would he just blow it off:?
