How do I tell when to take the picture on a Holga?

I'm using 120 format Fuji Colour Fujifilm in my Holga, but can't figure out what indicates when the next frame is aligned with the shutter - is it the large dots, or the numbers that follow the large dots on the film? Some pictures on my previous film came out alright, but some didn't, so that's not really a reference.
