The archaic theories on which astrological predictions are made have no logical or scientific basis. The basic concept on which it stands is that earth is at the center of the universe and the sun, the planets and all the stars revolve round the earth. Birth charts are still drawn on that basis even though it has been proved wrong. The sun, planets and stars do not revolve round the earth. Horoscopes are drawn with the help of astronomy but its relation with astronomy or any other branch of science ends there. All the other theories of astrology, such as lordship of zodiac signs by planets, exaltation and debilitation of planets, results of planets occupying a particular zodiac sign or effect of combination of planets, aspect etc. are not supported by astronomy or any other science. Zodiac sign are creations of man’s imagination. Man imagined such figures and signs by drawing imaginary lines through stars in the sky which are lying millions of light years (distance covered by light in a year travelling at a speed of 186000 miles per second) away, both vertically and horizontally, from one another. Any idea on the power of the stars and planets determining, controlling or guiding human life and destiny is not only imaginary but also may be considered as superstitious.
