Need flu advice...please answer!?

I came down with flu symptoms yesterday and was diagnosed by the doctor as having type a flu...i took dayquil flu and prednisone last night and went to bed...this morning I'm still cough and wheezing, still achy with a headache and sore throat, and still have runny/stuffy nose, watery sore eyes, and fatigue but my fever broke last night and hasn't come back...can I really have the flu without the fever lasting longer?
