What does it mean if a guy ask you out through a text ?

okie so i we just started talkin (a week total) nd hes already asked me to be his chick ? loll and i dont know if its coming from a good place or if he does this to other girls :/ am really confused , sooo since the first time we met we've been flirting and all tht good stuff and i guess at the time he had a gf i kno rightt but yea so he texted me today first time ever nd he says am cute he would love to be with me and i asked him if he has a gf he says there just friends his facebook status says hes in a relationship and hes known to be a flirt cuhs alot of girls like him ughh i dunno i need advice
