Are all tattoos a sin?(NO ATHEISTS PLEASE)?

i know the verse leviticus 19:28- Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. but i really want to get a tattoo of the cross on my chest,jesus on my arm,an angel on my other arm,and a scripture on my forearm. I know tattoos are supposed to be a sin but why would it be so bad to express on my person that i am a man of the lord and a strong believer in god and jesus christ . I mean its not like im trying to be condemned or doomed to hell or like im getting a occult symbol on me. Some one please help me out here.
