What is this page from Shakespeare King Lear saying?
I have not read King Lear since high school, but it sounds like Lear is leaving the part of the kingdom that he gave to one of his evil daughters, either Regan or Goneril, to the home of the other. The fool, which in the tragedies is the only character permitted to tell the main character the truth, is making fun of the situation that Lear finds himself in, having gone from king to a homeless, disrespected chump. The fool sees it, but Lear still gets mad that he is disrespected. The fool knows that Lear is no one now.
